The Adel Public Library is getting their December programming done the first half of the month so as not to interfere with the holidays, which means there are several events coming soon.
That starts this Monday, as the library staff invites families to stop by between 5-7 p.m. to make gingerbread houses. Also starting Monday and running through Friday, December 20th, the library is offering gift-wrapping services to the community, in exchange for a free-will donation. The wrapping is available during normal library hours. This coming week also marks the last of the daily children’s activities of 2019. The program will wrap up Tuesday with a special Dallas County Conservation Story Time at 10:30 a.m., featuring Naturalist “Critter” Cindy Blobaum.
Finally, tweens and teens can register at the library to make fleece tie blankets with Library Director Paula James on Friday, December 13th at 2:30 p.m. The program will take place in the “Bored Room.” At the same time, younger kids can play on a life-sized “Candyland” board in the children’s area. All the upcoming events are free to attend, and only the blanket activity requires registration. To learn more about the events, stop into the library or visit their website, AdelPL.org.
