The holiday spirit was in full force Tuesday evening, as the Spring Valley Retirement Community and Perry Lutheran Homes hosted their annual Tour of Homes and Wine Walk.

Attendees were able to partake in a variety of local wines and cheeses, and take a walk around the three floors of the facility. Seven residents opened their homes to the public to share their holiday displays, while also displaying the living options available to area seniors. While on the tour, participants were also encouraged to count the nativity scenes, of which there were over 70, and give their best guess for how many there were. The closest guess will win a door prize that includes wine glasses and other treats provided by local merchants. Attendees were also treated to holiday music in the atrium and fresh baked cookies in the billiard room.

Overall, the Perry Lutheran Homes staff was pleased with how the event turned out, saying they thought it was their most successful yet. They thanked the public for attending, and the residents for opening their homes.
