12-6-19-wreck

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Perry, which involved a car and a semi.

At around 1:30 p.m., the Perry Police Department responded to the wreck, located at the intersection of 1st and Park streets on the north side of the City. Officials informed Raccoon Valley Radio that the driver of the car appeared to be travelling west on Park Street and was turning onto 1st. They didn’t see the semi, which was travelling south on the four-lane highway, and ran into the trailer end of the truck. The driver of the car was checked at the scene and appeared to be uninjured, though their vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage. The driver of the semi was unharmed and there was only minor damage to the truck.

Traffic on 1st Street was reduced to one lane for around 30 minutes while crews were clearing the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
