Both varsity basketball teams from AC/GC will be in action tonight.

The boy’s and girl’s team will make the trip to Madrid for a double header later tonight. The girl’s team will start off the evening. Both teams are looking for the first victory of the young season. The two teams squared off twice last year with AC/GC coming out with the win in both matchups. The Chargers won the first matchup in Guthrie Center 50-42, then 54-42 on the road later on in the season. Through one game, Alaina Bunde is leading the chargers in several statistical categories. In AC/GC’s season debut, Bunde scored 12 points, she also led the team with seven rebounds, seven assists, five steals.

On the boys end, this will be AC/GC’s first game of the season. Madrid won their season opener earlier this week. The Chargers bring back their top two scorers from a year ago. AC/GC was led offensively by Bryce Littler and his 13.8 points per game. Littler’s 303 points scored was 13th among WCAC players. Also returning is AC/GC second leading man in Quynton Younker who averaged just under 10 points per game. Younker also led the team in rebounds with 155 and tied with teammate Noah Sargent for the team lead in blocks with six.
