There are many opportunities to donate and enter to win the $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway during Raccoon Valley Radio’s Caring Christmas Food Drive.
The Big Red Radio is broadcasting live today from 4-6 p.m. at the Perry Hy-Vee sponsored by Raccoon Valley Bank. The broadcasts continue tomorrow from 10 a.m.-noon at Peoples Bank in Adel, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Lakeside Village in Panora, 3-5 p.m. at Adel TV & Appliance, and 5-6 p.m. at the Adel Sip and Sample event.
The donations received at each collection site will go to that respective community’s food pantry. Panora Food Pantry located in the Faith Baptist Church is one of the recipients, and organizer Dick Ellis shares what items are most popular, “We usually have a pretty good run of cereal that we have to purchase a lot of that item. Peanut butter and jelly, soups always go out rather fast, the vegetables, well I guess just about anything that you would ordinarily think that are staple foods is what we need.”
The final Caring Christmas Food Drive stop of the week will be from 9-11 a.m. at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry. For more information on the food drives and our Christmas Cash Call contest, visit here.
