There are several holiday activities happening in Grand Junction this weekend to capture the spirit of the season.
The Jingle Into Junction event will take place Sunday from 5-6:30pm at the community center. There will be a silent auction, sponsored by the Naked Ladies Garden Club and Grand Junction Horizons, with over 30 items to bid on. Some of the items include a wooden cabinet, a winter-themed basket, holiday treats, tickets to History Boy Theatre, and other holiday items. Proceeds will go back to the two entities for local projects. Some of the previous projects each has helped with include food for the kids backpack program, holiday food baskets, computers for the library, street signs and others.
The GJ151 committee is sponsoring a tree and wreath display. Some of the items will be available for purchase, with proceeds to benefit the town celebration next year. Other activities include a bake sale with the Grand Junction Library, a turkey drawing with the Grand Junction Fire and Rescue, along with pictures with Santa Claus and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6pm, outside near the community center and sponsored by Brian and Beth Mount. The tickets for the turkey drawing are free and the winner doesn’t need to the present.
