Following its savory successful inaugural barbecue cook-off event in September, the Stuart Revitalization Group presented their donation checks to two local organizations.

Cook-Off Organizer Russ Wagner gave a check of $764.09 to Stuart Rescue and an added contribution made their donation to the Stuart Cottage Pantry a total of $1,014.09. Stuart Rescue Director Sean Bovinett shares his gratitude, “It’s good, you know I like that the community came out and really supported them in what they were doing and then they subsequently support us and we’re all here to help out the people of Stuart and we all do our own part and so it’s good to see them giving back and the people coming to help with that.”

Stuart Cottage Pantry Board President and Secretary Barb Boss adds she is also very grateful for the Stuart Revitalization Group’s support. The Best of the Block BBQ Cook-Off took place September 21-22. Wagner says the group intends on hosting the event again next year to help local organizations.
