The opening game of the year for the ADM Tigers boys basketball team had a wild finish, unfortunately one that didn’t go the Tigers way as Ryan Vande Haar hit a buzzer beater at the end to defeat ADM by the score of 55-53. Vande Haar was able to get the shot away with just 1.1 seconds left on the clock, giving Pella Christian a thrilling win and ADM a tough loss.
ADM trailed by eight at halftime, but got going in the second half of play with a quick 12-0 run led by a couple of key threes by Jaxson Millsap, but Pella Christian came back, thanks in large part to the services of senior Josh Van Gorp, who led the Eagles in scoring on the night with 28 points.
Nate Mueller hit a huge three with fifteen seconds to go to give ADM the lead at 53-51, but Dan Jungling hit a key layup with four seconds to go, moments before the Vande Haar buzzer beater.
ADM fought hard but ultimately came up short, and will look for their first win of the season against conference foe Ballard.
