holiday-artist-showcase-2019

Your final chance to enjoy the Guthrie County Arts Council’s Holiday Artist Showcase Series is tomorrow.

This is the series’ second year, with both local and visiting artists selling their works, free wine tasting and refreshments, and a 20% discount on any item at Art on State for those who become a member of the Council. Organizer Debbie Menning says the final featured artist is Rebecca Scholl, “She’s a painter from the Dexter area who is often featured at the Iowa State Fair. She did her speed painting demonstrations at Art in the Village this past summer and it was just amazing, like all of her art. We’ll also feature our new Danish pastries from the Kringle Man Bakery in Elk Horn. We’ll offer a special that day, our kringle is normally $12 but we’ll have it two for $20. Main Street Guthrie Center will be here again, that will be Small Business Saturday, with their poinsettia giveaway. And we’ll have live music, guitar and vocals by ACGC student Jake Thomas.”

Menning adds, they offer complimentary gift bags for those purchasing a holiday gift, with extra decorations for $1. The showcase lasts from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Art on State in Guthrie Center.
