The Perry Community Theatre invites the public to their next production, which this time has a holiday theme.

The group will perform the popular play “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” on Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th. The venue for the show will be the Perry Bible Church, located on the south side of Highway 141 across from Dallas County Hospital, and the performances will be at 7 p.m. each night. There is no cost to attend, and you don’t have to purchase a ticket. Director Marilee Bales says the shows are free thanks to a generous donation, and she’s hopeful to fill all the seats at the church for both performances. Bales adds, people are likely familiar with the story, but she promises the play will keep your attention. “You don’t know what’s coming next, so it’s not a play where you’re ever going to just sit there and think, ‘When is it over?’ It’s going to be, ‘Oh, is it already done?’”

Michelle Penenger, who plays Mrs. Slocum in the show, gives another reason for people to attend. “I think they should come because it’s a timeless story. The characters in this play could exist way back, they could exist now. And the story is over and over and over again, it can fit into the real world now, it’ll fit into the real world in the future. It’s endless.”
