A free holiday event is returning to the Spring Valley Retirement Community in Perry, and the public is invited to attend.

The Perry Lutheran Homes Tour of Homes and Wine Walk will be held this coming Tuesday from 4- 6 p.m. Attendees will be treated to an assortment of Iowa wines, cheeses, and crackers, as well as Christmas decor and live holiday music. The chief attraction will once again be walking tours of nine apartments at Spring Valley, which the residents have decorated specially for the holiday celebration. The participants include Esther Richards, Zola Summerson, Dick Hanson, Nellie Davis, Gloria Heenan, Alice Hoffman, Jackie Spellman, and Darrold and Helen Bice.

In addition to all that, there will also be a variety of nativity sets on display throughout the retirement community. Attendees can count the number of sets they see on their tour, and submit their best guess for the total for a chance to win a door prize. There is no registration required and no cost to attend. Guests can park on the east side of Spring Valley and enter the northernmost door.
