One thing that is key for all athletes is maintaining a proper diet along with getting enough exercise. For the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers athletic teams, having a Thanksgiving meal will be an exciting time for all with a major appetite. From turkey, to mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, to apple and pumpkin pie, it’s easy to overeat on a day like Thanksgiving.
One thing that has been stressed to athletes is to enjoy Thanksgiving but not to binge eat to the point that you could feel sluggish for a few days. That said, athletes from all winter sports should enjoy a cheat day, because they have all been working to make sure they are in shape for the season.
Everyone should enjoy a good amount of food today, but be wary to maybe avoid that 3rd serving of pumpkin or apple pie, just so practice isn’t so tough in the coming days.
