With several modes of inclement weather expected this week, traveling may be difficult.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams reminds motorists to drive to the conditions of the road and give yourself plenty of room between your vehicle and the one in front of you. He urges everyone to take extra precaution when traveling over snow and ice-covered bridges.
“Just going over bridges, just let off your gas (and) coast over the bridge, or any slick spot. Don’t add more gas to speed up, just keep it the same rate, and you should be fine going across them.”
Williams points out for motorists to be aware of black ice spots on the roadway and if you happen to lose control of your vehicle and go into a ditch, he still wants you to report it.
“They should still call us and let us know. That way we know that the person is alright and whether or not we need to get it towed out or not.”
