The AC/GC girl’s basketball team fell in their season opener Monday night.

The Chargers made the trip to Audubon to square off against the Wheelers in their season debut. AC/GC got off to a quick start and found themselves ahead very early in the contest. Audubon was able to neutralize the strong start and ended the first quarter with a 23-14 lead over AC/GC. Early on the Chargers found themselves in foul trouble and struggled to keep their key players on the court as the game progressed. AC/GC was able to cut the deficit to two going into the halftime break after playing a cleaner second quarter.

Fouls and turnovers continued to plague the Chargers in the second half as Audubon was able to break open the lead and went on to take the victory 65-49. AC/GC falls to 0-1 on the young season. They will be back in action one week from Friday as Madrid is hosting the boys and girls in a double-header.
