Raccoon Valley Radio’s Caring Christmas Food Drive continues this week.

The Big Red and Lil’ Big Red Radios will be traveling to several locations in Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties this week. In Greene County, we will be broadcasting live from at the Jefferson Hy-Vee on Tuesday from 3-5pm and at the Jefferson Fareway from 2-4pm Wednesday. In Guthrie County, we will broadcast live from from 4-6pm Monday at Hometown Foods in Guthrie Center. Finally on Saturday at the Adel Fareway, Olson’s Body and Paint in Waukee will be the sponsor from 9-11am.

When you make a monetary or non-perishable food donation during our live broadcasts, you will automatically be registered for the $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway drawing. Additionally, all food donations that are made in those communities, will stay with that community’s food pantry. Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC) Acting Manager Shirley Haupert says the donations from Raccoon Valley Radio contribute greatly this time of year.

“They supplement things too because at Christmas time the kids have a two-week break and they’ll go through a lot of food. That definitely helps out when they hand those boxes out.”  

The new Christmas Cash Call Contest also continues this week with daily call-in opportunities to win instant cash.
