A Guthrie Center man has been sentenced to time in prison for a felony domestic abuse offense.
Court documents show that 43-year-old Tony Lynn Young was found guilty of domestic abuse assault – third offense, a class D felony. Young has been sentenced to serve no less than one year and no more than five years at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale. He shall be credited for time already served in connection with this case, and must pay over $3,000 in fines, surcharges, restitution, court costs, and jail fees. A no contact order with the victim shall also remain in effect for five years. This sentence will also run concurrent to Young’s probation revocation sentence of 365 days in jail from a domestic abuse offense that occurred November of 2018. All other pending misdemeanors have been dismissed. This conviction comes from a September 1st incident in which Young had struck, pulled the hair, and threatened the victim.
