A reminder: tonight is the Iowa High School Music Association All-State Music Festival concert.

Student musicians across Iowa are coming together to perform as a choir, orchestra and band. Two Greene County seniors, Jacob Hanson and Kaitlin Tjostem are in the choir, and senior Mitchell Stevens is in the band. Hanson is a three-time All-State performer and he shares what his final performance means to him. 

“Making All-State kind of validates all of the work that’s put towards it. I don’t think making All-State means your automatically a better musician. Because there’s certainly great musicians that don’t make it into All-State, and I think a big part of that is how much you work towards it, how dedicated you are to it and the hours that you put in.”     

The concert is at 7:30pm at Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University. Tickets are $23.
