A Greene County High School football player recently received a scholarship for leadership both on and off the field.

Will Hansen was selected by the Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) as the Class 2A recipient of a $1,000 scholarship for the Student Athlete Achievement Award. The scholarship is given to student-athletes based on their academic performance, athletic participation, leadership skills and community involvement.  

IBA has sponsored the award for nearly three decades and they honor athletes in football, basketball and wrestling. IBA has given more than $265,000 in scholarships. Awards were given to one football player from 8-man through Class 4A. The full list of the recipients can be found below.
