A local business took advantage of a mini-grant program through Jefferson Matters: Main Street.

Junkyard Cafe was awarded $288 for its new storefront signage. The new sign is black with pink lettering, and it features a cadillac, which co-owner Karla Holman says is in honor of her father who owned a cadillac. The JMMS Design Team offers the Storefront Signage mini-grants, with matching funds, of up to $500. Applications are submitted to the design committee for consideration. Other recent recipients include Unger Insurance and Meythaler Photography, both located on the downtown square.

There are still funds available for projects. For more information on the application, visit www.jeffersonmatters.org, or email JMMS Program Director Peg Raney at director@jeffersonmatters.org.
