Greene County Chamber and Tourism is seeking nominations for their annual volunteerism award.
The Above and Beyond the Call (ABC) Award is given to an individual or couple who exemplify leadership qualities, give their time and talent unselfishly, while positively impacting activities or accomplishments that are beneficial to the community at large. Chamber Board Secretary Jill Morton describes some of the criteria for consideration.
“They have a broad spectrum of activities for community betterment, and it’s not anything that has to do with their job; good leadership qualities, capabilities by initiating and carrying through on community projects, (and) they possess characters of a nature to produce harmony and goodwill in promoting worthy projects. So just, you know, just an all around good person that gives to our community.”
Past recipients include: Vern Foge, Diane Blackmer, Don Orris and last year’s winners were Chris and Tracy Deal. Nominations must be submitted to the Chamber and Tourism Office by 4pm Friday, December 6th. The ABC Award will be given at the Chamber Annual Meeting at the end of January. Nomination forms can be found below.
