Two newcomers were sworn into the West Central Valley School Board Wednesday night.

Following the second-tier election canvass held by the Dallas County Board of Supervisors Tuesday, the School Board held an organizational meeting to administer the oath of office to Jason Tigges of District 2 and Brandi Coil of District 6. Tigges was elected to the seat by a write-in campaign as no candidates had formally filed, and Coil ran unopposed. Incumbents Harry Light, Jill Caltrider, and Jen Clemetson were also sworn in. The Board then elected Caltrider as Board President, and Nyle Godwin as Vice President. They also approved keeping the date, time, and location of Board meetings the same, and identified Caltrider, Tigges, and Laura Weber as the County representatives for Adair, Dallas, and Guthrie counties, respectively. Outgoing Board Directors Tiawny Meyers and Ashley Stodden were given lifetime activity passes and certificates of appreciation from the District.
