One driver was cited following a bus versus car crash in Greene County Tuesday morning.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio a deputy and Greene County Ambulance responded at 7:12am to the wreck on Pearl Street in Farlin, northwest of Jefferson. A Greene County School District bus, driven by Mavis Sawhill of Jefferson, was heading north on Pearl Street. A 2001 Ford Escort, driven by Micky Smith of Farlin was heading east on Merriam Street. Smith pulled out in front of the bus at the uncontrolled intersection and the bus hit the car.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office confirms Smith and another passenger were transported by Greene County Ambulance to Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries. Williams adds, all ten students on the bus and Sawhill were uninjured. The Ford Escort was determined to be a total loss, while the bus had minor damage. Smith was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
