The Greene County School Board met Monday in regular session.

The meeting started with the retiring board, due to the school board elections taking place in November. Peters commented that he thought the Board was heading in a good direction. Harding said his focus has always been getting kids what they need to have a quality education.

The retiring board then reviewed the 2018-19 treasurer’s report, followed by appointing Sid Jones as board treasurer and Brenda Muir as board secretary for the current school year. Additionally, they approved a change order of $120,046 for the new high school and career academy project. Finally, they canvassed the election results from November 5th’s election and Steve Fisher and John McConnell were re-elected to the Board.

The Board approved to keep the regular board meeting on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:15pm for work sessions and the regular meeting at 6:30pm. The list of board committees were then approved.

The Board approved an assistant cheerleading position to be paid two coaching units for $1,000 this school year, followed by four units next year.
