A Jefferson man was arrested for an alleged burglary and assault incident over the weekend.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, officers responded to the call of an assault at 5:19pm on Saturday in the 400 block of North Wilson Avenue. Police Chief Mark Clouse says 41-year-old Richard Dean Tuhn went to the residence of his estranged girlfriend. The woman and her boyfriend tried to close the door but Tuhn pushed his way into the residence. There was a physical altercation between Tuhn and the other male, and the victim suffered serious facial injuries.

Tuhn was then arrested and charged with a Class B Felony for first-degree burglary and a serious misdemeanor for assault causing bodily injury. Tuhn was booked and released from the Greene County Jail on his own recognizance. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
