Due to the Iowa Association of School Boards Convention this week, the Greene County School Board will meet tonight instead of Wednesday.
The meeting begins with the retiring board agenda. Items that the retiring board will consider for approval include the 2018-19 treasurer’s report and the second readings for revised board policies on graduation requirements and employee conflict of interest. Additionally, there will be the appointment of the board treasurer and secretary for the current school year and the canvass of November 5th’s election results.
The new board agenda begins with the oath of office for the elected board members, followed by the election of board president and vice president. Under new business, the Board will consider for approval of meeting times, dates and locations, along with committee assignments for the current school year. Additionally, the Board will consider approving an assistant cheerleading coach position, an out of state trip request for the Festival of Choirs, 2020-21 physical education exemption, fundraiser requests, transportation and grounds equipment purchases, change orders for the new high school and career academy project, a professional development contract and a request for a new high school club. The Board will also review advertising options and an Iowa State Assessment of Student Progress report.
The meetings begin at 5:15pm in the administrative building in Jefferson.
