Those with a vision for their area’s outdoor recreation, soil and water enhancement, historical resources, land management, and more are encouraged to attend one of 18 assemblies happening across the state.
Iowa’s Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) fund is hosting these meetings where Iowans can discuss the program, recommend changes, and discuss impacts in their area. Each assembly represents a region of counties and last about 90 minutes. Greene and Guthrie county residents are asked to attend the meeting held on Monday, November 18th at Swan Lake State Park in Carroll and Dallas County residents are to attend the meeting held on December 5th at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines. Both meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. REAP provides funding for city and county projects through a grant process, and since 1989 more than $360 million has been awarded to over 15,000 projects.
