November is about half over, but there’s still a wide assortment of free activities scheduled for the rest of the month at the Adel Public Library.
That gets started tomorrow with an event focusing on everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving bird. “Calling All Turkeys!” is an activity for tweens and teens, and will include games and other activities with a turkey theme. There will also be free turkey sub sandwiches for all attendees. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the “Bored Room.” Next, on Monday, November 18th at 10:30 a.m., the library will welcome Dallas County Conservation Naturalist “Critter” Cindy Blobaum for a special storytime for young kids. She will bring stories, activities, and artifacts that all have a Thanksgiving theme.
The next day, November 19th, kids and adults are invited to a special birthday party. Library Director Paula James will host a celebration of Barbie’s 60th birthday at 6:30 p.m. There will be Barbie BINGO, fun facts, a door prize, and Barbie cupcakes. Finally, on Friday, November 22nd at 2:30 p.m., people of all ages are encouraged to take part in the Adel Library’s first ever Disney Trivia Night. There is no cost to participate, and the winner will receive two tickets to the Palms Theaters and IMAX in Waukee.
There is no registration required for any of the programs. For more information, stop into the library or visit their website, AdelPL.org.
