The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board convened Monday evening in regular session.

The meeting began with approval of the consent agenda, followed by the second and final readings of eight Board policies. During the Focus on Learning section, the Board got an update on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) and ACT test results, as well as on how the Professional Learning Community (PLC) conference went. The action items started with approval of an agreement with the Atlantic Bottling Company to provide soft drinks for concessions and vending machines. Next, the Board tabled a resolution for a request for additional modified state supplemental aid for increasing enrollment and English Language Learners.

The meeting concluded with several discussion items that did not require action, including: an early retirement incentive program; the recent school board election; an update on the current school enrollment; a report on the Iowa Association of School Boards annual conference; updates on the business manager search and emergency operations planning; and a review of school-based mental health services.
