The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors officially set the date for a special election for the law enforcement center addition project.

They approved a resolution at their meeting Tuesday to set March 3rd for the election on a proposition to enter into a loan agreement to issue bonds in the amount of $8.7 million for the addition and courthouse parking lot improvements. The Board then proposed dates for community meetings to present the project. They tentatively agreed to host meetings at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in different towns on Saturdays from January 4th to February 8th, with one meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6th in Casey. They also suggested that the current jail be open for tours on those Saturdays. The Board then directed Sheriff Marty Arganbright to contact all the proposed meeting places to confirm the dates, and to get in contact with civic groups.
