An Arizona man who faced felony charges after an incident at an Interstate 80 rest stop in Adair County was convicted on amended charges.
Court records show that on June 27th, 40-year-old Edward David Ermocida pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was originally charged with felon in possession of a weapon, a class D felony. A class D felony forgery charge was also dismissed for Ermocida. For the weapons charge he was sentenced for four days in jail and was given credit for time served. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. The charges stemmed from a December 20, 2018 incident in which Ermocida was believed to have spent a counterfeit bill to purchase a pizza in the City of Adair. He was then located with a broken down vehicle at the 80 mile marker rest area. A state trooper discovered a loaded handgun with Ermocida.
