It’s been quite some time since people in the Perry area have been able to quench their thirst for trivia, but that comes to an end Thursday evening with the latest edition of “Trivia with Friends.”
The theme on this occasion is “Trivia on the Prairie,” in honor of the 10th anniversary of Art on the Prairie, and it will be hosted by the Perry Public Library. The event will take place at La Poste, with registration starting at 6 p.m. and the contest starting at 6:30. Library Director Mary Murphy offers some details about the competition. “Well, these are fundraisers for the Friends of the Perry Public Library, and it’s trivia from life. So there is going to be a category for Perry history trivia, because you know we had our sesquicentennial. You can have a team of eight, it costs $10 a person, and you can get ‘mulligans.’ Mulligans are like a wild card (and) you can use one per round. So there are usually five questions per round, so (there’s a) pretty good chance of getting 100%!”
Registration is advised but not required, and you can sign your team up by stopping in or calling the library at 515-465-3569. Murphy adds, there are usually openings on teams or others who will show up on their own, so even if you don’t have a team you can still participate. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Chris Cohea will also once again serve as emcee for the event.
