A reminder to Perry residents: as you’re heading to the McCreary Community Building today to vote, make sure to stop by the gym for a pair of events presented, in part, by the Chamber of Commerce.
On the east side of the gym from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., the Perry Kiwanis Club will be serving the annual Election Day Chili Feed, with all proceeds benefiting the Tori’s Angels organization. On the west side from 4-7 p.m., there is a new event, dubbed the “Member Showcase.” Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says there will be 11 Chamber members featured in the Showcase, and she points out, there’s a lot of info to be gained. “It’s a chance to meet some businesses that you might not interact with on a regular basis. So they might not have a storefront, or you might not be customers of them already. So it’s a chance to meet other community members, learn more about their business; maybe it’s new products, services, a new person on staff, (or) maybe they’re hiring. So it’s really open-ended, but we’re just looking forward to providing that event for both the community and our members as well.”
Pasutti adds, they’re trying the event out this year to see the response to it and to gauge whether it’s something they’d like to continue in the future.
