dallas-vote-300x225-25

Don’t forget, today is Election Day for the 2019 city and school elections, which are combined for the first time.

As a result, Dallas County residents are reminded that their voting precinct may have changed from where they voted two years ago. That’s not the case in Perry, where all voters will still cast their ballots at the McCreary Community Building. Adel will have precincts one and two open, which are located at the public library and Faith Christian Church, respectively. All other precincts in the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District will be the same as their normal federal election site. If you’re unsure where your polling location is, click the link below to visit the Dallas County Auditor’s website. As a reminder, you must bring photo identification with you to vote, or have an attestor who can confirm your residency. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

There are a few contested races throughout Dallas County, such as for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board. Four individuals – Tim Canney, Heith Hockenberry, Ryan Smith, and Nicole West – are vying for three open seats, and three – Bart Banwart, Kirk Feher, and Sue Brown – are running to fill a vacancy. To hear from each of the seven candidates, listen to the Special Edition Meet the Candidates In Depth News Magazine by clicking the Listen Live banner above, selecting KDLS, and then clicking “On Demand.” Other contested races in Dallas County include: five candidates – Danny Beyer, Rober Haxton, Ryan Coon, Ryan Kluss, and Gary Licht – for three seats on the Dallas Center City Council; two candidates – Maris Masengill and Colton Morman – for Dawson Mayor; four candidates – Judy Daggett, June Rector, Alecia Lleshi, and Timothy Hays – for three seats on the Linden City Council; two candidates – Dave Griffith and Wade Reed – for Redfield Mayor, as well as four candidates – Amber Baker, Darrell Bowman, John Hoy, and Vince Stonehocker – for three seats on the Redfield City Council; three candidates – Matthew Cavanaugh, Kelly Kirts, and Jared Stone – for two seats on the Woodward City Council; and three candidates – Sam Behrens, Jennifer Benbow, and Angie Sebastian – for the District 5 seat on the Woodward-Granger School Board.
