The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, County Engineer Wade Weiss told the Board about Alan Jensen’s resignation, effective this Friday. Jensen has been a county employee since 1981 when he started in the auditor’s office, then switched over to the engineer’s office in 1997.
The Board approved the next step in issuing general obligation bonds from the wind turbines through tax increment financing for the new career academy project. The Board authorized executing a loan note purchase agreement with Northland Securities’ proposal for $4,755,000 in general obligation urban renewal capital loan notes. The Board will then consider approving the buyer at a future meeting.
The Board also approved a request to permanently display World War I veteran Floyd Brown’s photo in the south room of the Greene County Courthouse. Additionally, they also approved future deceased county veterans to have their respective photos on display, on rotation, following separate resolutions from the Board, as per the county’s public art policy.
Other items the Board approved included 20 homestead and military tax credit disallowances as presented and the County Recorder’s report of fees for October of $21,910. The Board took no action following a 2021 fiscal year funding request of $7,500 from Elderbridge Agency on Aging.
Finally, the Board approved changes to insurance policies for the 2020 calendar year as presented.
