Adel-Desoto-Minburn junior Nate Mueller ran away on Saturday as the State champion for the ADM boys in class 3A boys up in Fort Dodge. Mueller ran one of his best times of the year, finishing with a time of 15 minutes and 45 seconds, ahead of Humboldt’s Quinton Orr by seven seconds. The junior was excellent in the race, as he got out to a quick start out of the pack and was able to get to his spot quickly. He finished in third in 2018, and this year came back for some unfinished business to win the state championship.
The girls team qualified and finished 15th as a team. Freshmen Geneva Timmerman ran a great first state race of her career finishing with a time of 19 minutes and 36 seconds, finishing 20th in the race.
Congratulations to Nate Mueller on a state championship and to the girls team for making it to state this year to conclude a successful 2019 season.
