Stuart area children can enjoy storytime with a twist this Saturday.

The Stuart Police Department is hosting “Books & Badges” at 10 a.m. at the Stuart Public Library. Officer Katie Guisinger will be reading stories to kids, and the event is free and open to the public. This is just one of many recent examples of the department’s community involvement, including Coffee with a Cop, National Night Out, the West Central Valley Criminal Justice Club, and Guisinger and Chief Dave Reha’s hiring by the West Central Valley School District as school resource officers.
