Motivation won’t be lacking for Greene County quarterback Brent Riley and his teammates tomorrow night when the Rams travel to Des Moines Christian High School in Urbandale for an opening round Class 2A football playoff game. Both have 8-1 records and both are top 10 rated in the polls and Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).

One difference is the Lions won District 8, which is why they are hosting, while the Rams lost 35-13 last Friday in Ida Grove to number four OABCIG in what was a battle of two 8-0 teams.

Riley talks about the loss. “Obviously, Friday stung a lot, but that’s probably good for us I think as we move on. Now, it’s win or go home. Last week was the time to lose, not now, so we get to play another week. We need to get one and just keep moving on.” About the fan base and playing on the road, the QB added, “Our fans travel really well and it’ll probably feel like a home environment because of them. But, after last week, we’re going to be really ticked off. I don’t think it’s going to really matter because we’re just going to want to win?”

Kickoff tomorrow night is at 7 p.m. with coverage starting at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
