A Perry man died late Wednesday night, after being involved in a single-vehicle wreck in the 1000 block of Park Street.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 11:23 p.m., 48-year-old Michael Thomas Sloss was driving a 1994 Ford F150 down Park Street, just west of 1st Street. He then struck a vehicle parked on the street and lost control. He entered a residential yard and struck a tree and two parked cars before coming to rest. Sloss was declared dead at the scene, and the State Patrol reports he was not wearing a seatbelt. No one else was involved in the accident. The crash is currently under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
