As the U.S. House continues its impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump, one Republican lawmaker is speaking out on the issue.

The investigation by the House Judiciary Committee is about Trump’s alleged conversation with Ukrainian leadership to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District Representative Steve King points out, President Trump is being transparent with the proceedings and believes the hearings could hurt the Democratic Party and President Barack Obama’s Administration.

“With Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden and the cast of characters that flowed in, and out, and around the Biden orbit, and the money that’s disappeared within Ukraine. There’s over $1 billion that the U.S. put into the Ukrainian economy to try and prop them up that’s just been sucked away and disappeared through a bank that’s owned  by an allegard and through a gas company that we’re learning now that has put Hunter Biden on the Board.”   

King says the impeachment hearings are a political stunt by the House Democrats. 

“This is as, I’ll say as bald a politically motivated impeachment as ever existed, with regard to the President, in the history of the United States.” 

King adds he’s reviewed the transcript with Ukraine leadership and didn’t find evidence for impeachment.
