With inclement weather a possibility throughout central Iowa on Halloween this year, one of the area events that won’t be affected is the second annual Rowley Masonic Community Haunted House.
The elder care facility in Perry will be hosting the event from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, and people of all ages are invited to a family-friendly but spooky time. The attraction includes a wide variety of props and decorations created by the Rowley residents. Organizers point out that the haunted house is geared towards kids ages 3-9, so they emphasize it won’t be excessively scary for the youngsters. However, they promise it will be a fun experience for all attendees. Other activities during the event include chalk art, a photo booth, sock puppets, games, candy, and other Halloween-themed treats.
There is no cost to attend the Rowley Haunted House, and attendees are asked to use the east entrance off 28th Street. As a reminder, Perry also offers the Chamber of Commerce’s downtown “Spooktacular” from 4-6 p.m., Dallas County Hospital’s Safe and Healthy Halloween from 5-6:30, and citywide trick-or-treating from 6-8 on October 31st.
