Whether you’re cooking for a busy family, or trying to simplify for a smaller household, a three-week workshop will help those feeling stifled by time, price, or lack of creativity in the kitchen.

ISU Extension and Outreach Nutrition and Wellness Specialist Ann Parker is hosting Healthy & Homemade, a three-week series at the Guthrie County Extension office in Guthrie Center. The class will take place from 6-7 p.m. Thursdays on November 7, 14, and 21. The main topics will be slow cooker meals; cook now, enjoy later; and healthy choices: aisle by aisle. Parker says she’s received a lot of positive feedback on the recipes shared during the class, “Many of the participants said they have tried the recipes they received from the first or second week, and they tried them out at home and really enjoyed them. So I think people really like to have newer stuff to try. They get kind of in a rut and don’t know, ‘What’s something new I can make for myself or my family?’ So we do have a lot of recipe resources for people to use at the program.”

Cost is $30 to register for the class, and the deadline to register is Monday, November 4th. For a link to sign up, visit here.
