A Casey man was sentenced after violating his probation on a drug conviction.

Court documents show that 59-year-old Andrew Dean Nelson was found guilty of violating his probation on September 18th for two previous convictions of possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, which occurred last February and July. Nelson has been ordered to continue his probation including all terms and conditions. He must also reenter the Salvation Army program in Des Moines, and shall remain in the Guthrie County Jail until bed space is available. He must also pay all financial obligations. Nelson was previously sentenced this August to two suspended 10 year prison terms and was placed on three years probation. He was also ordered to enter the Salvation Army rehabilitation program and remain until maximum benefits are achieved.
