The Perry City Council convened Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting started with a proclamation by Mayor John Andorf for the “Lights On After School” event with Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (PACES) program, followed by a review of the 20 years of PACES from Director Mary Hillman during open forum. Following that will be two public hearings. The first involved a voluntary annexation of property owned by Joyce Conklin-VanKirk, and the second involved the disposal of public property for the portion of 2nd Street that was recently vacated. The former hearing will have action at the next meeting, while the latter was approved during old business.
Following that, the Council approved the fourth pay request from Jensen Builders in the amount of $91,617.43 for the hangar, apron, and taxilane project at the Perry Municipal Airport. In new business, the Council approved the final plat of survey for the “Bluejay Addition” for part of Block 8, Foster and Heaton’s Addition, which is the project site for the Perry High School building trades class. Finally, the Council approved an agreement granting a permanent easement with Wiese Industries for a new structure that would encroach on the City’s right-of-way on 3rd and Rawson streets.
