Jefferson residents are asked to help support the local food pantry with a community-wide donation event.
The Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC) Board has organized a community food drive event for tomorrow evening. Board President Pastor Julie Poulsen is encouraging residents to fill bags with canned food and place them on their front porches by 6:30pm. Greene County students in 5th-12th grades will then go around and pick them up.
The donations will then be given to ARC to help feed the 100-140 households that utilize the facility on a monthly basis. Items that the food pantry is in extreme need of are soup, vegetables and cereal.
