It was a Guthrie County Showdown Friday night in Guthrie Center.

Panorama made the short trip to AC/GC High School to face the Chargers with second place in the district on the line. Both teams entered 6-1, knowing at least the top two teams in the district will be almost a lock for the playoffs. AC/GC’s opening drive stalled and Panorama wasted no time taking advantage. On the Panther’s first play from scrimmage, Michael Allen found pay dirt on a 32 yard carry. AC/GC’s next drive ended quickly with a fumble around mid-field. A few minutes later Luke South was able to add a touchdown on a one-yard carry.

The Chargers responded on the next drive with a long drive aided by back-to-back personal found penalties by the Panthers as Gavin Cornelison scored on a one-yard rush. Panorama’s offense would continue to dominate throughout the first half. Dominic Walkers putting up points through the air and on the ground including two touchdown passes that were tipped by AC/GC defensive backs.

Panorama would go on to win the game 48-8. The Panthers improve to 7-1 on the season and will celebrate their seniors next week as West Central Valley comes to town on senior night. AC/GC falls to 6-2 on the season and will host Mount Ayr next week and battle for third place in the district as they celebrate their seniors.
