The Adel Public Library will be hosting a pair of activities this coming Friday, one for cinema lovers and another for comfort food enthusiasts.

The annual Friends of the Adel Public Library Foundation Bake Sale will be held October 25th from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the community room. Aspiring bakers are invited to share their creations to benefit the library, and goodies can be dropped off during normal business hours right up until the sale starts. All proceeds will be used by the Friends Foundation to fund special projects and programs at the library. One such program will take place while the sale is going on. At 2:30 p.m. in the story room, the library invites families to partake in Fall Snacks and a Movie. They will show the short film “Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space,” which has a runtime of 30 minutes. There is no cost to attend and popcorn will be provided, and you can bring your own snacks and drinks as well.

As an additional reminder, the Friends Foundation will once again be hosting a local author and craft fair in December, and those interested in having a free table for the event can contact Library Director Paula James by phone at 515-993-3512 or by email at Paula@adelpl.org.
