The Greene County Sheriff’s office responded to a pair of two-vehicle crashes Thursday.

According to a press release, the first incident happened at 7:15am at the intersection of US Highway 30 and M Avenue. Twenty-six-year-old Samantha Henderson of Jefferson was heading west on the highway, and she carelessly struck the driver’s side of a 2001 Chervolet S-10 truck that was heading east and driven by 62-year-old Anthony Renner of Jefferson. Henderson was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Ambulance for minor injuries and Renner was uninjured. Both vehicles were considered total losses. 

The second crash happened at 4:31pm at the intersection of Highway 30 and U Avenue. Twenty-four-year-old Jacob Lovell of Perry failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of an eastbound 2016 Kia Sedona driven by 41-year-old Matt Wetrich of Jefferson. Lovell’s 2016 Chrysler 200 struck Wetrich’s Sedona. Both drivers were taken to the medical center by Greene County Ambulance with injuries and both vehicles were considered total losses. Lovell was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. A Sheriff’s Deputy, along with Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded to the wreck.
