A Guthrie Center dental practice celebrated its first year of business and were officially welcomed by the Chamber of Commerce Wednesday.
Chamber President Kristen Crouthamel and other members helped Dr. Daniel Nelson cut the ribbon to mark Springbrook Family Dentistry’s membership into the Chamber. Nelson was no stranger to Guthrie County before starting his own practice last year. He graduated from Panorama High School in 2010, and since then he received his Bachelor’s degree from Central College, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa. He says he always desired working in Guthrie County, and shares what he enjoys most about his profession, “So definitely the community aspect, I’m involved with some of the boards here as well. As far as the dentistry goes I love to work with my hands and being social and being able to talk with people so it’s a perfect mix for me.”
Nelson was able to create Springbrook Family Dentistry through financial assistance from the Iowa Area Development Group and Panora Communications Cooperative, as the IADG seeks to address parts of the state that are lacking dental care options.
