The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library is hosting a popular event this weekend.
The Chocolate Friendzy will take place on Saturday from 9am-noon at the library. The fourth annual event will feature a variety of chocolate creations and attendees get to vote on their favorite one. There will be an adult and child division with winners announced toward the end. The event is for Friends members only, and those who aren’t members can sign up that day for as little as $5 for an individual membership.
Incoming Friends President Ginny Showman says there’s a wide variety that Friends volunteers can help with.
“There’s things as simple as putting away books, and there’s things that you could volunteer to work at the book sale, there’s lots of opportunities. We’re really going to try very hard in the next year to reach out to as many people because a lot of people say, ‘Oh I never get called.’ And we want them to feel welcomed, and we want them to feel like they are a part of the Friends.”
