The Perry Fine Arts Committee is set to kick off the upcoming season of concerts, with the first show happening this Sunday.

At 2 p.m. in the Perry High School Performing Arts Center, the duo Ann and Charlie Heymann will play their blend of Irish and Scottish folk music. The pair is from Minnesota, though they are internationally-known for their sound, which features the Gaelic wire-strung harp and Celtic tunes. Fine Arts Committee member Cathy Clark encourages the public to attend the performance, which will be followed this season by seven other concerts. Clark adds, they are honoring a former member with their 2019-2020 lineup. “This year we are dedicating the whole concert series to Alice Schumacher. She was a dedicated member (of the) Fine Arts (Committee). When she passed away, many people gave donations in her memory. And I kept asking her husband, Dale, ‘What kind of music did she like the best?’ And he said, ‘Everything!’ So we finally decided that we would dedicate the whole series this year to her memory.”

All concerts throughout the season are free to attend, though free-will donations are accepted with all proceeds going towards future events.
